effe is active in many ways:

It establishes contact with politician and decision-makers in order to foster dialogue and discussion; it disseminates information through the press, numerous events and its publications about the significance of human rights in education, educational freedom and the need for diversity in educational systems.

In particular;

  • We attach particular importance to meetings, above all in the form of Colloquia. You can read more about this on the Colloquia page.

  • effe regularly intiates and participates in projects at a European level which aim to promote debate and foster greater understanding about education in Europe. The MMS and SMS projects are just two examples of this.
  • The Atlas of Human Rights and Freedom for Schooling in Europe (currently under development) is a unique concept. effe hopes that with this Atlas we can contribute to the debate on the education system in as many European countries as possible. More can be found about this project under Atlas.

  • effe's EU office in Brussels reacts to European Commission, Parliament and Council calls and papers. The aim is not only to positively influence European education policy where possible, but to increase active participation in the political process and strengthen the link between the European Union and its citizens. More information can be found under the effe publications page.

  • effe regularly publishes texts and articles concerning freedom in education in its newsletter. Academics, member organisations and inviduals all contribute to the publication as does the EU office in Brussels. Go to the Newsletter page to find out more.
