Educational Policy in Europe

Discussion at the European level is governed at present by the considerable importance attached to the aim of improving the quality of the education systems within the framework of the “Lisbon Strategy“. Until the year 2010 fundamental contributions should also be achieved by member states to improving general education, in order to make the EU a competitive, dynamic, knowledge-based economic area.

A “Work Programme for General and Vocational Education 2010“ outlines the details. The Non-governmental Organisations can play a part in the joint work of the member states outlined by the Commission in so far as they can make sound, innovative expert contributions.

The Task of the effe

  • Participation by the effe as a Non-governmental Organisation in discussions of
educational policy at the EU level and in the development of the educational systems
of its member states ; with the schools providing general education being given
    priority.

  • EU-Funding programs utilisation bythe effe or its members,

  • The creation and cultivation of networks with other sympathetic civil society
    organisations.

The Forum is now also a service provider; supporting effe members with questions related to European education policy or the European funding programs. The most up-to-date information can be found in our Newsletter. But in addition you can turn with your questions or comments to our colleague on the spot in Brussels:
